More Chill Less ill

With so many things ahead and coming up at the Brickworks none of us can afford a battle with the sniffles. You can chill though it’s easier than you think to ward off winter ills with some actions and immune boosting superfoods.

FOOD

Turmeric has immune boosting effects and aids the body’s resistance to infection. Able to treat a variety of ailments, including digestive issues, menstrual problems, arthritis, infections, headaches, coughs and rheumatic pains the bright coloured herb has many medicinal properties. Garlic, a popular ingredient in many of our favourite winter warming meals is also great in fighting off infections and bacteria. It has the ability to boost the number of virus-fighting T-cells in your bloodstream so don’t be shy, go for it and add whole heads to your kitchen creations. You’ll be fighting off Dracula and the office virus with force.

EXERCISE

We can’t discuss the immune system without giving a shout out to exercise either. Exercising will not only help you squeeze into those jeans, but it also increases your immune function, improves your quality of zzzzzs, and makes your body stronger so you can #GetIt. And no, a coffee ‘run’ does not count so find the time to fit in a stretch at Essence of Living or a workout at Snap Fitness.
