‘Not Yet Winter’ Essentials

We’ve been experiencing an unseasonably warm Autumn here on the Gold Coast. The cooler weather is taking its sweet time but all we want to do is break out our knits and woollens! But as the days get shorter and the nights longer you can be assured that winter is coming.

Trans-seasonal dressing is difficult at the best of times. Here are a few essentials to get you through this in-between weather. Soon to become wardrobe staples in the months ahead when this lovely May weather will be all but a distant (much warmer) memory.

1. Lace ups

Sensible footwear is a must! You just never know when those Autumn showers will have you running for cover. The Aleah Sneakers by IRO Paris are a casual-cool classic but with a twist. Available from Another Love, these babies with their flaked metallic detailing are just the kicks you need!

2. Active wear

Yoga pants are a downright must – regardless of whether you practice or not. We guarantee that these Lovely Laura’s Leggings from Divine Goddess will become a favourite for lounging, running errands, brunch with the girls and maybe the odd yoga class.

3. A little bit of leather

You can’t go past leather, it’s the epitome of the AW season and Kookai’s Suki Mini Skirt is simply too cool to overlook. The cord detailing at the hem of the skirt is a fresh twist on a classic. Team it with a knit and some booties for a knockout look.

4. Some neck action

The Waffle Turtle Neck Sweater from Kookai is a creamy dream. The loose fitting, oversized style pairs perfectly with any pant or the aforementioned leather skirt. When the really chilly weather arrives this number makes for great layering too.

5. Pucker up

Napoleon Perdis Super Lips in the Destiny shade wears like a dream leaves a truly glam and moisturizing finish. It’s easy to find yourself only wearing blacks and greys in cooler months. Available from RY.com.au this lip colour is both completive but also adds a pop of much needed colour to a monochrome look.
